SEMA Show 2014 was our biggest and best show to date and we would like to share our experience with all our fans and supporters.
We had an overwhelmingly positive response to the 1966 Recoil Chevelle at the show. The reveal on Tuesday in the Royal Purple booth was astounding! There was a huge crowd around the booth that included SEMA show attendees as well as many members of the media. However, the best (and possibly most nerve-wracking) part about the reveal was the fact that Recoil’s owner, Chris McPhie, had not seen the car until we pulled the sheet off. His surprised expression and the huge grin on his face were all we needed to confirm we had achieved what Chris had in mind for his car. For the remainder of the week, the Royal Purple booth had a steady stream of visitors all vying for a chance to check out Recoil up-close and see all the little details we meticulously added to the car.
The Recoil Chevelle was recognized at the show with prominent awards including the Goodguys Gold Award, a Mothers Choice Award and the prestigious GM Design Award for Best Chevrolet of Show. Not only did the Chevelle receive accolades, but builders Jim and Mike Ring were recognized for their talent and were nominated for the first ever SEMA Battle of the Builders. From an initial field of 250 builders, the Rings made it to the top 10 and by Friday evening at SEMA Ignited, Mike and Jim were in the top three.
In addition to Recoil, the ADRNLN Pantera and the Blizzard Mustang were also on display at the show. ADRNLN was featured in the Barrett-Jackson booth as the car will be crossing the block in January at the Scottsdale, Arizona auction. 2014 Goodguys Muscle Machine of the Year winner, Blizzard, was prominently featured in the HRE Wheels booth. The Mustang was sporting the newest wheels in the Ringbrothers series by HRE, dubbed Recoil, which made their debut at the show during the HRE Wheels press conference.
